Anime Origins Unit Traits

Traits are rollable stat bonuses on your units. Equipping a high-roll trait on a carry unit can double its damage; rerolling traits to chase the bonus you want is a core part of teambuilding. Here's what a trait actually is, how it rolls, and how rerolling works.

The basics

What a trait is

A trait is a modifier a unit can have that grants a stat bonus. Think of it as a passive perk that sits on the unit and changes how it performs — some traits are damage multipliers, others add survivability or utility.

Modifier

One trait, one bonus

Each unit carries traits, and the value of those traits depends on the roll. A trait worth keeping on a carry unit can swing a fight by itself.

Stacking

Traits stack with artifacts

Traits combine with the stat modifiers from artifacts. A good trait on a well-geared carry is where the biggest multipliers come from.

Unit-bound

Traits follow the unit

Unlike a shared relic you can move around, a trait stays with the unit it rolled on. Reroll on the fighters you actually use.

Trait loop

How trait rerolling works

The system is simple: units come with traits, each offers stat bonuses, and you can reroll to chase the trait you want. Keep the strong traits, reroll the weak ones. Here's the full loop.

Step 1

Check your traits

Every unit rolls traits that give stat bonuses. Check what your summons got before investing gems elsewhere — a great roll might already be sitting on a unit you never touch.

Step 2

Spot the weak rolls

Compare each trait against the priority table below. Traits that don't help your team's role — or rolled so low they barely matter — are reroll candidates.

Step 3

Spend currency to reroll

Rerolling trades a little currency for a chance at a much stronger bonus. It's the same spend-and-hope loop as artifact rolls: don't overspend on units you bench.

Step 4

Keep the strong rolls

A high-roll trait on a carry unit matters more than an artifact on a bench unit. Lock in the traits that move your damage and move on.

Priority table

Trait priority, community-reported

Which traits are worth keeping depends on your unit's role. This table ranks the kind of bonus you'll actually want, based on what players report. Exact occurrence rates are community-reported, never a precise percentage.

Trait typeWhat players reportBest for
Damage boostRaises how hard the unit hits — the number-one priority on any damage dealer.Carry units

Decision help

Keep it or reroll it?

Stop hoarding currency and start deciding. Ask yourself these three questions before you spend a single reroll.

  • Is this unit in my main team? If not, don't reroll it — save currency for your carries.
  • Does the trait match the unit's role? A survivability trait on a damage carry is lower value than a damage boost.
  • Did the roll come out strong? A high-value trait worth keeping beats another random reroll that could come out weaker.
Checklist

Reroll traits like a pro today

A short routine that protects your currency while hunting better bonuses.

  1. Scan your roster and note which carries have weak or mismatched traits.
  2. Fund your rerolls with a stable gem / gold source first, so you don't tap out mid-hunt.
  3. Reroll one carry at a time and stop the moment you land a damage or speed boost worth keeping.
  4. Re-check your support and tank traits for survivability — improves hard-stage clears.
  5. Pair the kept traits with artifacts on the same unit to multiply the effect.
  6. Revisit after every summon — a new strong unit may deserve your next reroll budget.
Next step

Chain traits into the loop

Traits make your carries stronger, which feeds everything else.
